Going into college, I honestly thought I would have a lot of time in the morning to do my hair and make up - in my mind having a couple of classes a day mean that I could spend a little extra time in the morning get ready. NOT THE CASE. For the most part getting ready meant hopefully having time to put on mascara because of the late night study sessions and the comfort of sleeping in. Thus, I quickly learned two things: 1. skincare is super important and 2. minimal makeup is the way to go. Here's a list of a few things I fell in love with during my first semester in college!
📷
1. EOS hand cream and body lotion: This stuff is absolutely amazing! It leaves my skin super soft and it's affordable -score!
2. Garnier SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water: This product changed the way I remove makeup. I used to remove my makeup with warm water and soap but that always left dark circles around my eyes from mascara and eyeliner. With this cleansing water my makeup comes off really quickly and it's not harsh at all.
3. Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara: By far the best mascara I have used! It makes my eyelashes look extremely long without clumps. If you don't have time to do a full face of makeup a little but of this mascara makes your eyes pop and makes you look awake!
4. Skinfix lip balm: BEST LIP BALM EVER. Seriously go try it. It leaves your lips feeling extremely smooth and hydrated, plus its a great base before a lipstick. The lip balm is color free and odor free - personally I don't like my lip balms to have a scent or a color as I usually use them as a base for another lip product or before I go to bed.
5. NYX Lingerie Liquid Lipstick: I've been obsessed with Kylie Jenner's makeup line, however I still haven't been able to get myself to buy a $29 liquid lipstick (without tax or shipping!). This liquid lipstick however is the perfect nude for darker skin tones and it doesn't leave the lips feeling dry. Plus the shade 'bedtime flirt' is a great dupe for Candy K. It is a bit lighter than Kylie's lipkit but personally I like it better.
6. Benefit Cosmetics liquid highlighters: I absolutely love these highlighters and they're great for anyone who hasn't yet mastered the 'art' of highlighting. I bought these as a mini travel pack - not only were they cheaper that way, but it gave me the opportunity to try out all of their highlighters without spending a lot of money.
7. L'oreal Infallible Liquid Eyeliner: I've been using this since 9th grade and I love it! Since the applicator is pen shaped it makes applying eyeliner easier.
