Hey y'all!
After three days of orientation, I've finally started medical school! Today's been surreal so far there are times where I can't believe i'm in medical school, living in NYC -> it's just so exciting.
With everything switching over to zoom (our labs are in person still) the transition has been both easy and rough. It's been easy because I'm taking classes at home, I don't really need to be dressed, I can have snacks around me at all times, and I'm not that easily distracted. It's been hard though because I haven't been able to meet a lot of my classmates (besides my roomie Treloara) and I haven't been able to meet my professors or explore the campus.
This semester I'm taking biochemistry, genetics, physiology, histology/cell bio, and bacteriology - it's a full load but i've taken 3 of the classes in undergrad. My first day hasn't been that bad, a lot of the information has been review so that's been really nice! Although in couple weeks we're going to be having 2 exams per week so that's going to be fun haha.
All in all it's been a pretty chill day considering it's medical school. I know things are about to hit the fan and i'm going to be stressed, but i've been enjoying the ride so far. I definitely miss my family and friends but i'm excited to see what opportunities NYC will have for me!
Peace and Blessings,
Srini
