Hi guys! I hope you're doing well. My spring semester has started in full swing and I thought it was high time I resurfaced my college confidential series.
Today's post is on study tips! If you haven't seen my fall semester review (go check it out;) you may not know the roughness that was fall semester. I'm in my second year of my undergrad, but because I've used most of my AP credits i'm actually on my last semester of pre-med classes (WHOOP). I still am planning on graduating in 1.5-2 years as I still have major specific classes, but sophomore year is probably going to be my hardest year in terms of classes. On my fall semester post I mentioned that I am going to make myself for busy this semester which led me to really change the way I study, and I thought I would share them with you!

Try to study the material you learn right after class, or the day you learned it. I've been lucky this semester to have an hour break between most of my classes so after the end of one my classes, I will study what I learned and then head on to the next class. I've noticed such a big difference just the past few weeks alone. I'm more on top of what's going on in class. I have my afternoons free for work, and org obligations. Plus, I can afford to hang out with my friends more on the weekend without feeling guilty about ditching them to study since i've studied during the week. Study snacks. Such a must. Before, I would study without any snack with the mindset that my snack was my reward for finishing. I still do that for treat snacks, like chocolate. I will tell my self that if I finish my ochem chapter, then I can have a piece of chocolate. But, now, I make sure I have a healthy snack to eat while i'm reviewing my class notes. I typically have fruit because it's a great way for me to eat fruit, since i'm studying and not really thinking of what i'm eating (idk if that makes sense). Eating fruit has always been a challenge so this is my favourite was of incorporating it in my diet. Study break. This is also so important. I try to finish most of my studying before 8/9 pm on weekdays (as in reviewing class notes - not when i'm studying for exams) so I like to have 30-40 min breaks in between where I like to make lunch and dinner. As well as write blog posts or do org work. I then like to spend an hour most night watching TV or youtube just to relax my brain and not have to think about school at all. These tiny breaks have really helped my stress and anxiety these past few weeks because I don't feel as overwhelmed as I did last semester.
I know that these are only 3 tips, but honestly these are the three that I live by. Studying this way, has made me feel more relaxed, has given me time to have job, be more active in the orgs i'm in, and have time with my friends and just have fun. College can be tough especially when you're pre-med, but having a good study schedule can let you enjoy your undergrad years without feeling overly stressed about school. I hope these tips help y'all, and let me know if you have any other study tips! Please, don't forget to follow the blog, comment, and follow my insta!
Peace and blessings,
Srini
